Educents celebrates Teacher Appreciation Week

Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!

The teaching profession is one vocation very close to my heart, as I am also one. The passion, dedication, patience, and love they give to students is really unimaginable, and very admirable.

Just last week, one of my dearest teachers in grade school passed away, and some of my classmates and I paid a visit during her wake. We were so surprised to see two folders of our personal letters to her during her birthday, Valentines Day, Teachers’ Day, and other occasions, also invitations to birthday parties, other notes given to her, and our class photos. All those years she had saved all those letters. Some years ago, one of her daughters asked her why she saved all those letters (what was in her wake was just a fraction of the letters she kept in albums). Our teacher told her daughter it is for her students to see when she’s passed on.

She battled the Big C for several years, without having undergone operation or chemotherapy. She lived longer than expected, and is now resting with the Almighty Creator. We’re just so proud of her courage and wisdom she showed all these years.

I am thankful for educators because:

  1. Next to our own parents, we learn from them. Not only about lessons, but about life in general.
  2. Teaching is a gift and a blessing, and they have just that.
  3. The love for children that they have grows, and multiplies.

Education has such an impact on ourselves and our little ones. Educents is here to help you pay it forward. In honor of Teacher Appreciation week, Educents & Peekapak have teamed up to provide your favorite educators with a gift basket worth over $40, which includes a FREE $10 Educents Gift Card & 3 months of Peekapak lesson plans (3 digital storybooks, 12 in-class lessons & 12 at-home activities) that teach Character Education and Language Arts.

So, whether it’s your mom, your classroom teacher, your neighbors, or another special human being who taught you important lessons, thank them by giving them a FREE gift basket, on Educents!

Introducing the NEW Educents Marketplace

I just received an email from the founders of Educents, Kate and Kaitlyn, with some really exciting news. Until today, Educents was a website for parents and educators to take advantage of daily deals. But those deals expired… And there were only 50 deals available at once… I wanted saving money to be even EASIER. Kate and Kaitlyn agreed. So they created the new Educents Marketplace. It’s even easier to discover affordable educational resources that make learning FUN!

Thousands of new products – Educents Sellers can now offer ALL of their bestsellers on the new Educents Marketplace. There’s a wide variety of worksheets, lesson plans, educational apps and toys. Shop The Young Scientists Club, Scholastic, Workman Publishing, Alpha Omega Publishing, Life of Fred books, hundreds of printable units created by educators, and more!

Offers that NEVER expire – Sellers can offer our favorite educational products year-round. Once a deeply discounted Daily Deal expires, you can still find that product available on Educents at the lowest price.

Discovery – It’s easier to search on Educents. Search for your kiddos’ interests like Minecraft or Frozen-inspired resources, and then sort by grade level, subject, brand, and more!

For a homeschooling mom on the go like I am, I always look online for ideas, resources, and materials that would best fit my daughter.

Recently, I found a site which caters to just what I need: different subject areas, worksheets, lesson plans, books, even supplies, all in one website!

Educents was founded in 2013 by Kate and Kaitlyn, who are passionate about education. They believe that everyone should have access to education, and are offering really affordable yet quality products in their website.

According to their website, since its launch in April, 2013, Educents has saved educators over $15 million dollars and has helped more than 130,000 teachers, homeschoolers and parents gain access to affordable educational materials.

I tried it out myself, and here’s what I can say about the site:

1. Easy to navigate. Who does not love a website so easy to navigate? Clear, concise, and clean website. Easy to understand tabs, and you can even filter materials to your desired grade level. See example below:

See my shopping cart? I already got Snow Kids Color by Code because it's FREE!

2. Different subject areas, in one site. I don’t have to browse different sites because I can get math, science, and art resources from this site alone.

3. Deals, deals, DEALS! Don’t we all love the words discount and free? You will often see them on the website.

4. They have a blog where you can read how the products, materials, and worksheets are actually used, and more teaching and learning tips. I was able to use one of their products–the Peekapak Homeschool Gratitude Curriculum and my daughter enjoyed reading and learning from the book (though we chose to read from the laptop at first). Get it FREE, only four days left! Sign up now.

Whether you are homeschooling or not, and looking for ways to teach your child at home, Educents makes education accessible, for fewer cents.

Sign up via this link and get $10 in credit to spend in the website! How does that sound to you?
