Finally, my most favourite month is here! Only because I was born this month.
I would have wanted my firstborn to be born on the same month, but unfortunately, she didn’t want to, so she came out earlier. Such a character since she was born!
So yesterday, my daughters had their first joint party. And if you’re gonna ask me, I’d never do it again. Kidding! On the other hand, should there be another reason to do it, I would. And I’d definitely do better next time in terms of planning, strategizing, and spending time with each guest.
My husband was the definite hero of yesterday. He did spend time with each guest, going here and there to troubleshoot things, facilitated a simple game, drove us the entire day, and so much more! Me? I got to sit and spend time with friends, got to eat, go around to check on the other tables, while my wee little marionette is sleeping, breastfeeding, or awake and smiling, then repeat. Ate had her own set of guests and was in charge of them, the karaoke, the singing, but still made time to go around to have photos taken and be with our other guests.
Let’s backtrack a bit. Before the fun reception, we had Marcella baptised by our dearest priest-friend. We chose the date because it was the Feast Day of one of our favourite saints, St. Raymond Nonato. We carefully prayed for each godparent we chose, and ended up with a list of six, three pairs only like Aria’s, which is composed of our church volunteer friends, our choir member who literally grew up before our eyes, and our former officemates and friends.
Unfortunately, March was very sleepy and gassy, she was crying incessantly during the rites. I was internally panicking, and let out a big sigh after the whole ceremony was done. Whew!
I was so happy to have March baptised on the day we prayed for, with our dear friend Mons Bobby baptising her, surrounded by the love and support of our families and friends, eating yummy food and cake, spending time with our guests, seeing Aria and her friends from her different communities, and just enjoying the special moment with our beautiful girls God has blessed us with.
My story was of yesterday, but the memories will last forever. See you on Day 2 tomorrow!
